ACTA, Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam, has won the Hedy d’Ancona Award 2012. According to the jury: “ACTA is exceptionally good detailed architecture; a building of international stature. Even in the smallest details the theme, a streamlined environment for care, education and research, is conducted. The building impresses immediately upon entering and that is exactly what gives patients, students and researchers confidence in the high quality profession that is performed, taught and examined in the building.” The award of 10.000 euro was given by Hedy d’Ancona herself.

It is the second time the Hedy d’Ancona Award is granted and more than a hundred projects were entered for the award. A jury led by architect Koen van Velsen nominated six projects and awarded ACTA and the Ronald McDonald Centre in Amsterdam.
