Lounge 2, Amsterdam Airport
Schiphol
As a result of the
expansion, the central lounge of the airport, built in 1976, is doubled in
volume. To utilise the sparsely space in the heart of the airport optimally,
the expansion floats above the service roads of the platform.
Steel constructions with
great spans support steel plate concrete floors for the floors and the roof.
The possibility to make a line for an automatic system for the transport of
passengers on the roof of the building, is allocated in the construction.
A spectacular new tax-free shopping centre of the British designers
Virgile & Stone, is integrated in the lounge. A glimpse of this shopping
centre can be caught through the roof lights on the panorama terrace for
recreants, on top of the lounge.
