This design parks an additional dwelling on the
roof of these premises on Baarsjesweg in Amsterdam.
By having this solitary object float above the roof, the building beneath can
survive the operation intact. The lightweight construction, a simple steel
frame with timber joists and plywood, has a minimum effect on the building
supporting it. An outer layer of composite panels with a high-gloss finish
reflects the house's stand-alone, envelope-pushing qualities. Set high in the
bend of the canal (Kostverlorenvaart), there are wonderful cross-city views to
be had
